Seriously Delinquent Mortgage Loans Up 1.7 Million in 2020 - DSNews

2020 ended with 2.15 million seriously delinquent mortgage loans, that is 1.7 million more seriously delinquent homeowners than when 2020 began — "a looming reminder of the challenges facing the market in 2021," according to the First Look mortgage loan performance report from Black Knight, published Friday, which includes data from the full year.

According to the McDash Flash Forbearance Tracker from  Black Knight , as of April 23, 2020, more than 3.4 million homeowners, or 6.4% of all mortgages, have entered into COVID-19 mortgage forbearance plans. “During this national health emergency, no one should be worried about losing their home," said Director Mark Calabria. “No lump sum is required at the end of a borrower's forbearance plan for Enterprise-backed mortgages.
